Pamela Gilbert served as Executive Director of the Consumer Product Safety Commission from 1995-2001. From 1984-1989, Gilbert was Consumer Program Director at the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, where she specialized in civil justice and consumer protection issues. She worked for Public Citizen's Congress Watch, first as Legislative Director and then as Executive Director from 1989-1994. From 2001-2002, she was the Chief Operating Officer for M&R Strategic Services, a public affairs and political advocacy firm based in Washington, DC. Gilbert graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a B.A. in mathematics in 1980. She received her law degree from New York University in 1984.
