Alyssa Doom serves as the Investigation & Outreach Coordinator for GAP's Food Integrity Campaign, where she works with food industry whistleblowers to expose government and corporate practices that are detrimental to public health and counter to public expectations about the way safe food systems should operate. As an Investigator, she is responsible for spearheading investigative teams and identifying problems related to FIC's mission including food safety, worker rights, food handling, and the right to tell the truth. In her capacity as an Outreach Coordinator, Alyssa works to educate the public about services offered by FIC and build coalitions with likeminded organizations and individuals.
Alyssa graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a Bachelor of Arts in social welfare. She then went on to earn her Master's degree in criminology from Portland State University, where she focused mainly on white collar crime, including regulatory deficiencies in the food industry. Prior to joining GAP, Alyssa worked as an Organizer at consumer advocacy nonprofit Food & Water Watch in its Portland, Oregon office.
