Beatrice Edwards is the Senior International Policy Analyst at GAP. She has over 30 years of experience working on labor issues, anti-corruption measures and public-service reforms within both a domestic and international framework. Before joining GAP, she managed the International Financial Institutions (IFI) Project for Public Services International, a Global Union Federation for public sector labor unions, where she monitored IFI loans to Latin American and Caribbean governments for compliance with international labor standards and anti-corruption mandates. Bea also served as a Senior Specialist for Social and Economic Affairs at the Organization of American States (OAS), and managed the OAS Multinational Education for Work Project in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Bea is a previous contributing writer for the Texas Observer, and holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas and a Ph.D. in Sociology from American University, where she maintains a teaching relationship. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
