(Washington, DC) – Today, the Government Accountability Project announced the launch of a mobile-friendly website redesign for its Food Integrity Campaign (FIC) at www.FoodWhistleblower.org. The Campaign aims to protect and empower employees who speak out against waste, fraud, abuse or violations of law along the food supply chain.

The new site features a short animated video that highlights the community effort needed to safeguard our food and the key role whistleblowers play to help keep the food system honest. The video takes the consumer on a journey from soil to plate, revealing how brave workers along the way can protect food integrity by raising concerns related to FIC’s five issue areas:

Food Safety
Animal Welfare
Environmental Health
Worker Rights
Transparency

FIC Director Amanda Hitt stated: “By supporting a community of truth-tellers, the Food Integrity Campaign website now serves as a resource hub where whistleblowers can seek legal help and concerned citizens can take action on their behalf. It takes a community to build a culture of truth-telling and FoodWhistleblower.org provides a space for this movement to grow.”

Through the new site’s interactive Know Your Rights tool, whistleblowers can answer a brief series of questions to find out what legal rights they have, get details on the relevant laws, and decide whether to request legal assistance. There’s also a list of tips for individuals considering blowing the whistle.

For concerned advocates, FoodWhistleblower.org offers an action-oriented interface with ways to get involved throughout the site, including from your mobile device.

“Whether you are a whistleblower hoping to publicize a serious food safety problem, or a concerned person who cares about the state of our food system, we want to make it easy for you to be part of the food truth movement. No matter what device you’re using, it only takes one or two simple clicks to get involved,” said Hitt.

FIC’s featured campaigns include:

Fighting against state anti-whistleblower Ag Gag laws that criminalize agriculture whistleblowers who expose wrongdoing at industrial farms
Calling out the poultry industry’s heavy use of chemicals that has resulted in worker health concerns
Demanding transparency from the FDA regarding antibiotic use in food animal production
Unveiling the truth behind biotechnology companies’ activities to stop implementation of a pesticide transparency law
